Who we are?
       The Congregation of Franciscan Sisters of St. Aloysius Gonzaga was founded by
Rev. Fr. Michael Ansaldo,S.J in 1775 at Puducherry as an orphanage to care for the oppressed poor, the abandoned women and the helpless children and now it has evolved into its full status by passing through various stages as a registered charitable entity dedicated wholeheartedly to the cause of education and social upliftment in favour of the less privileged humanity in general and women in particular, keeping its focus on the Gospel values for which it is a living and vibrant witness till today. Rev. Fr. Michael Ansaldo,S.J
        Rev. Fr. Michael Ansaldo, SJ, the founder of the Gonzaga Congregation, was born in Messina, Italy on 29th September 1739. At the age of fifteen, he abdicated all the worldly pleasures and joined the Society of Jesus and was ordained priest. The anchorite had an ardour to preach the ways of God to the Eastern Countries.        St. Aloysius Gonzaga (Luigi Gonzaga, 1568 – 1591) was born on 9th of March, 1568 into a princely Italian family, who gave up his right to the title of Marquis of Castiglione, for a life of service to the poor and suffering. The first words he pronounced were the holy names of Jesus and Mary. When he was nine years old, he made a vow of perpetual virginity. Readmore....
